Industrial Metal Supply Co. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Machine Saw Operator to safely operate forklifts, side loaders and other equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to cutting cells.

This role offers hands-on training with plate, band and shear saws, ideal for someone with entry-level material handling experience. You will verify material dimensions with calipers and micrometers, maintain stock and ensure accurate staging for production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Basic math and mechanical skills are essential.
• Experience reading measurement tools like calipers and micrometers is preferred.
• English reading/writing/speaking is required.
• 1+ years forklift operation experience is preferred.
• 1+ years saw machine or industrial machinery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move raw metal materials from inventory to cutting cells using forklifts and loaders.

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Saw Operator safely operate forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to metal-cutting cells. This is a great opportunity for someone with material handling with entry level machine operation experience to learn and become proficient with various saw cutting machines (including plate, band and shear industrial saws).

CORE JOB DUTIES

• Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product for distribution.
• Inspect cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pin-gauge, etc.)
• Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
• 1 + years' experience operating a forklift
• 1 + years' experience working on a saw machine or other industrial machinery
• 1 + years' of experience working in a warehouse, production, distribution, or manufacturing environment
• Read, write, and speak in English
• Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
