Job summary

Warren CAT seeks a Machine Sales Representative to drive outside sales in the Odessa, TX area. You will travel the territory to solicit orders, demonstrate products, and prepare sales contracts while maintaining customer data in Warren CAT software.

You will build and sustain customer relationships, quote terms, and coordinate delivery and training, aiming to meet targets and deliver timely reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university, and/or five years related experience and/or training.
• Familiarity with manufacturer’s literature and applying it to selling products.
• Excellent communication skills to read, write, and interpret instructions.
• Strong conflict management, listening, accountability, and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and use Warren CAT software for data management.
• Compile lists of prospective customers and maintain information on activities and leads.
• Demonstrate products, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales contracts.
• Estimate delivery dates and coordinate training and support with customers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts and resolve product-related issues.

The Machine Sales Representative is responsible for the sale, rental, and/or leasing of new and used machines to business and industrial establishments or individuals . This position is classified as an “outside sales” position; the position’s primary duty is to obtain orders/contracts for products or services; employees are customarily and regularly engaged away from Warre n ’s place of business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from various sources . Maintain information on these customers and activities on Warren CAT software.
• Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders ; or talk with customers on sales floor or by phone.
• Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Quote prices and credit terms ; prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Work with other sales representatives for Product Support opportunities and other opportunities.
• Work with Warren CAT software fluently to determine machine options, features, benefits, applications, and attachments.
• Coordinate and/or participate in customer training.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with products, attachments, and deliveries.
• Study and understand machine abilities, limitations, and applications, as well as understand our customers’ business(es).
• Work with goals, targets, and quotas where minimum expectations must be met.
• Timely submits reports and forecast as directed by management.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED :

• Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and/or five years related experience and/or training.
• Reasonable familiarity with manufacturer’s literature and how to apply it to selling our product.
• Excellent communication skills to read, write, and interpret instructions in written, verbal, and/or diagram form .
• Excellent conflict management to includ e strong listening, ability to control emotions in heightened situations, accountability for customer feedback, and follow-through to find solutions and ensure customer service excellence.
