Job summary

O-I is seeking a Machine Repair Supervisor to lead hourly maintenance teams across the Auburn/Finger Lakes operation. You will plan schedules, direct technicians, and coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Mold teams to boost machine performance and reliability.

You will mentor apprentices, oversee the apprentice program, and travel to other North American plants to support installations and audits. A background in preventative maintenance is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient at reading blueprints.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience supervising people and leading processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be available to respond to unscheduled breakdowns and critical production issues for continuous operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan department work schedules and direct assignments of personnel and equipment.

  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Mold Repair, Mold Control, and other plant teams to troubleshoot issues and improve machine performance.
  • Analyze operations and make recommendations relative to changes in organization, personnel, equipment, department policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections of forming equipment including feeder mechanisms, bottle machines, and bottle handling equipment.
  • Review bottle quality and mold equipment operating data.
  • Oversee Machine Repair Apprentice program and support training, development, and succession planning within the department.
  • Travel to other plants in Americas North Region to assist with machine installs, conversion changes and machine audits.

Job Description

The Machine Repair Supervisor is accountable for supervising hourly personnel in all phases of machine repair, maintenance, installation, and rebuilds.

The Machine Repair Supervisor will:

Plan department work schedules and direct assignments of personnel and equipment

Lead, coach, and develop Machine Repair mechanics, apprentices, and other assigned support personnel.

  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Mold Repair, Mold Control, and other plant teams to troubleshoot issues and improve machine performance.
  • Analyze operations and make recommendations relative to changes in organization, personnel, equipment, department policies, and procedures

  • Review bottle quality and mold equipment operating data

The Machine Repair Supervisor should have:

  • A strong background in Preventative Maintenance

Ability to recognize failure prior to failing to increase scheduled repairs and reduce downtime

Ability to respond to unscheduled equipment breakdowns and critical production issues in a continuous manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Salary Range:The expected salary range for this position is between$90,000 - $120,000and includes a possible12%quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
