Job summary

Viking Group, Inc. in Hastings, MI is seeking a Machine Repair Technician to maintain and repair production machinery. This role focuses on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.

You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout, and perform other duties as assigned at our Hastings, Michigan facility.

Responsibilities

• Install and assist with installation, relocation, setup, and leveling of machinery.
• Install pneumatic and hydraulic power sources and related components for new or relocated equipment.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions with Maintenance/Engineering to identify repairs.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components (solenoids, pumps, belts, bearings, etc.).
• Maintain safe operating condition; ensure guards and safety devices are installed and functioning.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO when servicing equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Machine Repair position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and equipment to support safe and efficient operations. This role works primarily with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and partners with Maintenance and Engineering to diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs, and minimize production downtime.

Responsibilities

• Installs and/or assists with the installation, relocation, setup, and leveling of machinery and production equipment.
• Installs pneumatic and hydraulic power sources and related components for newly installed or relocated equipment.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions, working with Maintenance team members and Engineering as needed to identify issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and maintains mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, including but not limited to solenoids, actuators, ball screws, pumps, air motors, packaging equipment, air cylinders, fixtures, robots, chucks, clutches, brakes, belts, bearings, conveyors, and feeders.
• Ensures machinery and equipment are maintained in safe operating condition and that all required guards, safety devices, and interlocks are properly installed and functioning.
• Follows all established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, when servicing or repairing equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
