Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a Machine Repair Technician for the second shift at our Buffalo, NY facility. You will install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain plant equipment, diagnosing issues and applying repairs with minimal supervision.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and 2–5 years of machine repair experience, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate safely on site. Benefits include health, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Constant standing/walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and reaching.
• Ascending/descending ladder, scaffolding, or stairs.
• Grasping, manipulating, or assembling objects with hands/fingers.
• Clear vision and hearing for safety.
• Must have necessary standard tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain machines and equipment in operating condition.
• Diagnose trouble, determine repair methods, make installations and plan layout with minimal supervision.
• Work on machines to close tolerances and perform general maintenance as directed.

Duties

• Requires the ability to install, service, dismantle, rebuild and maintain in operating condition various machines and equipment throughout the plant.
• Also must be able to diagnose trouble, determine methods of repair, make installations, plan layout, move and complete work on machines or equipment with minimum of supervision.
• Must have knowledge of construction and machine design prints, shop mathematics and a minimum of 5 years experience in this type of work. Have necessary standard tools.
• Work close tolerances as required and make simple parts if needed. Will do general maintenance functions as required at the direction of the supervisor.
