Summary:

The Production Machine Operator is a key member of the production team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring speed and loads, tending various machines that perform functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers.

Responsibilities:

• Operating assigned machines and performing related tasks such as preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, adjusting for efficiency, and assisting other operators.
• Starting up machines and observing operation to detect malfunctions.
• Performing quality checks and reporting defective materials.
• Maintaining awareness of hazards in the area.
• Handling downtime and rework during idle periods.
• Recording data manually and adjusting processes accordingly.
• Ensuring quality checks and documentation are complete.
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
• Following all safety procedures.
• Verifying packaging specifications such as cap torque, stream pressure, fill temperature, weights, and codes.
• Documenting causes of downtime.
• Reporting safety, food safety, and quality issues to management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience in machine operations within manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to understand measurements and record information.
• Willingness to work any shift.
• Ability to follow written instructions and work independently.
• Ability to track and record production data.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift/carry up to 75 pounds.
• Push/pull up to 90 pounds.
• Stand or walk extensively on concrete.
• Kneel, bend, crouch, or stoop as needed.
