Eaton is seeking a Machine Operator (Winder) for our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA. This role winds coils and transformer sub-assemblies to customer specifications, following wiring diagrams and work orders. You will inspect quality, interpret drawings, and maintain a clean, safe workspace to meet production targets.

Eligible candidates may receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Overtime opportunities and benefits are offered according to company policy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• Willing to work second or third shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wind coils or transformer assemblies using coil-winding machines and welding equipment per wiring diagrams and orders.
• Inspect product quality and conformance to dimensions and schematics.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints; keep work areas clean and organized.
• Meet production time standards and adhere to safety and attendance policies.
• Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and export control requirements.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Winder) - HIRING EVENT at our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA.The hourly rate for this position is $23.80 per hour.This site is currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires on 2nd and 3rd shifts.The specific shift, work schedule, and any applicable shift differential will be confirmed when an offer of employment is extended.Candidates should indicate all shifts they are willing and able to work during the interview process.Why work at Eaton?Health benefits and vacation timePaid holidaysCareer progression opportunities to cross-train in different departmentsOvertime opportunitiesRetirement benefitsPaid Parental LeaveEducational Assistance Program, Wellness Reimbursement, and more!What you’ll do:This position will be responsible for winding coils or hot working transformer assemblies used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, transformer, or work order, using coil-winding machines and welding and brazing equipment: Reviews wiring diagrams and work order or examines sample to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound or accurately builds transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications.In this function you will:• Wind standard coils for dry type transformers or hook-up/hot work transformers to meet production demands• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.• Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards• Adhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctuality• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints• Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable• Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulationsQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:• Forklift operator certification (can be trained on-site)• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field preferred• Minimum of 6 months soldering/brazing/welding experience OR a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades course• Minimum 1-year Previous Machine Operation experienceSkills:Position Criteria:• Ability to lift 50 pounds• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
