Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division in Nacogdoches, TX is seeking a Coil Winder on the 2nd shift to operate a computer-controlled coil winding machine and build transformer coils to specification. You will set up the machine, identify required parts, interpret winding specs, and label finished coils while maintaining safety protocols, including LOTO, PPE, and GMP standards.

The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and working in a loud environment.

Qualifications

• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Set up, wind, and insulate primary and/or secondary transformer coils using a computer-controlled coil winding machine.
• Identify coil part numbers and quantities from the schedule and input part numbers into the machine during setup.
• Accurately interpret winding specifications and follow the setup screen instructions.
• Label coils with ID, work order, part and machine numbers.
• Perform minor rework on damaged coils and conduct routine upkeep of winding machines.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Coil Winder-2nd shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential.

What You’ll Do

The Coil winder uses defined procedures/processes/specifications and computer-controlled coil winding machine to set-up, wind, and insulate primary and/or secondary transformer coils.

In This Function, You Will

• Perform tasks across Primary and/or Secondary machines.
• Identify coil part numbers and quantities from the schedule/work order ticket, retrieve necessary small parts, and input part numbers on the computer-controlled coil winding machine during set up.
• Accurately interpret winding specifications.
• Set up coil winding machine following specifications on the setup screen, including mandrel size, duct parts, insulation tape type, etc.
• Install and adjust devices on the machine to meet window sizing specification, load strip, conductor, and insulation paper onto dereeling mechanisms.
• Measure materials, make adjustment, and verify alignment.
• Place and adjust coil form according to specifications.
• Activate the machine to feed materials and follow instructions on the run screen for various functions, winding coils at the specified rate per hour.
• Label coils with ID number, work order number, part number, and machine number.
• Utilize measuring devices including but not limited to hydraulic tools, hand tools, brazing, soldering, pliers, scissors, rubber hammer, ratchet, wrenches, and bending tools.
• Perform rework on damaged or defective coils to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct minor adjustments and routine upkeep of winding machines.
• Weigh and log scrap metal in the database and follow proper disposal protocols.
• Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines.
• Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
• Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
• Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
