Machine Operator VB (Day Shift) (Finance)

Job Purpose: To ensure that all products are produced to meet specifications and established standards required by the customer and the company.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with other personnel to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Properly adjust production machines to ensure efficiency, quality, and accuracy with minimal product loss.
• Set up and operate production machines daily according to standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and regularly inspect equipment.
• Perform basic light maintenance and assist maintenance mechanics with troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory of supplies needed for machine operation.
• Document product specifications by hand as required.
• Operate a forklift and obtain a forklift license if necessary.

Team Participation: Engage actively as a team member, participate in development and communication of team policies, attend meetings, and promote cohesiveness and synergy within the team.

Systems and Policies: Familiarize with Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, and company policies, and understand the role in supporting these systems.

Additional Duties: Perform other tasks supporting business objectives as needed, encouraging creativity and initiative beyond defined responsibilities.

Physical Activities & PPE

Work on feet throughout the shift, perform bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 pounds). Work environment may be cool, wet, and noisy. PPE includes waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, and lockout devices.

Qualifications

• Technical experience in troubleshooting machines, basic mechanical skills, and computer literacy.
• Industry experience preferred in poultry or food processing.
• Minimum education: Able to read, write, communicate effectively in English, and perform basic math.
• Preferred education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Competencies: Good teamwork, decision-making, and communication skills.
