Job description

To ensure that all products are produced to meet specifications and established standards required by the customer and the company, the following responsibilities are essential:

• Coordinate with personnel to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Adjust production machines to ensure efficiency, quality, and accuracy with minimal product loss.
• Set up and operate production machines daily according to standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections of equipment.
• Conduct basic light maintenance on machines and assist maintenance mechanics with troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate inventory of supplies needed for machine operation.
• Document product specifications manually.
• Operate forklifts and obtain necessary licenses if required.

Participate as a team member by engaging in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team policies and practices. Attend team meetings, foster cohesiveness, and support organizational synergy by identifying and resolving issues collaboratively.

Understand and support Simmons’ operating systems principles related to quality, security, and company policies. Communicate concerns and suggest improvements proactively.

Support business objectives by performing additional duties as needed, recognizing that this description guides but does not limit your responsibilities.

Physical activities include working on your feet for entire shifts, bending, squatting, working in elevated areas, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Be prepared to work in cool, wet, and noisy environments.

Use personal protective equipment such as waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, and lockout devices.

No travel is required.

Technical skills include troubleshooting machines, basic mechanical skills, and computer literacy.

Industry experience preferred in poultry or food processing sectors.

Minimum education: Ability to read, write, communicate effectively in English, and perform basic math.

Preferred education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
