Motor Wheel Chattanooga Job Description

Motor Wheel Chattanooga is seeking candidates with heavy industrial experience. Foundry experience is preferred but not required. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

1. Follow work instructions and take direction from the foundry lead person to determine work processes.
2. Weigh specified amounts of materials as needed by each project module.
3. Operate and calibrate machinery to make it process-ready.
4. Use various hand tools.
5. Ensure that ventilation procedures are followed throughout the process.
6. Install and remove steel jackets and bands used for holding snap molds together.
7. Sort castings into pairs, and pull reinforcing wires from castings.
8. Remove castings from molds and place them on setting rings.
9. Perform preventative and regular maintenance on job-specified equipment.
10. Ensure that all work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
11. Set bands as a band setter.
12. Clean and maintain chucks as a chuck cleaner.
13. Operate the fork lift to move castings, weigh castings, hang on casting chain (Fork Out).
14. Repair and maintain runner boxes, assist in changeovers.
15. Slag boxes, maintain intermediate ladle (Labor/Slagger).
16. Measure castings, inspect, remove splattered iron, operate HP grinder, and manage castings placement and tagging (Blast Operator/Inspector Stacker/Rework).
17. Drive a fork truck, locate products, and move materials (Fork Truck Operator).
18. Monitor, log, and record processes.
19. Assist in changeovers.
20. Operate industrial-powered equipment.
21. Cross-train other employees as required.

Physical requirements include lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs with assistance, prolonged standing/walking, manual dexterity, and mobility. Working conditions may involve extreme heat, temperature changes, noise, and hazards.

Successful candidates will be required to obtain industrial powered equipment certification (e.g., fork truck).
