Machine Operator - Spin Line (3rd Shift)

Motor Wheel Chattanooga is seeking candidates with heavy industrial experience. Foundry experience is preferred but not required. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

1. Follow work instructions and take direction from the foundry lead person to determine work processes.
2. Weigh specified amounts of materials as needed by each project module.
3. Operate and calibrate machinery to make it process-ready.
4. Use various hand tools.
5. Ensure ventilation procedures are followed throughout the process.
6. Install and remove steel jackets and bands used for holding snap molds together.
7. Sort castings into pairs and remove reinforcing wires.
8. Remove castings from molds and place them on setting rings.
9. Perform preventative and regular maintenance on equipment.
10. Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of work areas.
11. Set bands as required.
12. Clean and maintain chucks.
13. Operate fork lift to move castings, weigh castings, hang on casting chain.
14. Repair and maintain runner boxes and assist in changeovers.
15. Inspect castings, remove splattered iron, operate grinders, and manage castings placement and tagging.
16. Drive fork truck to locate and move materials and equipment.
17. Assist in changeovers and operate industrial-powered equipment.
18. Cross-train other employees as needed.
19. Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
20. Maintain visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, and accommodation.
21. Work in conditions with extreme heat, temperature variations, loud noise, and hazards.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain industrial powered equipment certification (e.g., fork truck).
