PrideStaff - Greenville is seeking a detail-oriented and technical Machine Operator for a premier film and material conversion facility in Greer, SC.

In this role, you will operate slitting machinery to slit and convert plastic film to exact customer specifications, with training available for the right candidate. The schedule rotates 3 on, 4 off on first shift, with a 6:00am–6:00pm shift and pay of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating slitting machines.
• Experience in paper, textile, or film conversion.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitting machinery for precise widths.
• Monitor production to ensure straight cuts and proper winding.
• Perform visual and dimensional quality checks.
• Load/unload large rolls safely using hoist or lift.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues during conversion.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized machinery to slit and convert plastic film to exact customer specifications. While we are willing to train the right person, we highly value candidates with experience in specialized material slitting.

Slitting Machine Operator Primary Responsibilities include:

Your main responsibility is the setup and operation of slitting machinery, ensuring plastic film materials are cut to precise widths and lengths with zero defects.

• Machine Setup: Configure slitting machines based on specific work orders, adjusting blades, tension, and speed for various film types.
• Production Monitoring: Oversee the continuous run of materials, making real-time adjustments to ensure straight cuts and proper winding.
• Quality Inspection: Conduct frequent visual and dimensional checks to ensure the film meets strict tolerance requirements.
• Material Handling: Load and unload large rolls of plastic film onto the machinery safely using appropriate hoist or lift equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues or material inconsistencies during the conversion process.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, recording material usage, scrap rates, and completed quantities.

Slitting Machine Operator Requirements include:

• Experience: Previous experience operating slitting machines is highly . We also value experience in paper, textile, or film conversion. Forklift experience .
• Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical ability and the capacity to learn complex machinery and precision measurements.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math and read a tape measure/ruler with high accuracy.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for a 12-hour shift and move/maneuver rolls of material as needed.
• Reliability: Proven track record of attendance and punctuality for the 6:00am start time.
• Attention to Detail: A "perfectionist" mindset when it comes to measurements and material quality.
