Job summary

Nucor Towers & Structures is seeking a Machine Operator at our Brigham City, UT facility. The role focuses on safe operation of production lines, with responsibilities spanning setup, operation, inspection, and adherence to quality standards.

You will work in a team-oriented environment, supporting continuous improvement and efficiency. Candidates should demonstrate basic machine knowledge, strong safety awareness, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Safety policies must be understood and followed at all times.
• Ability to startup and shutdown production lines.
• Familiarity with basic machine functions and processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related tools.
• Excellent attendance and reliability required.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area.
• Operate tasks including pressing, forming, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, molding, and bench work; inspect outputs.
• Report malfunctions or abnormalities to maintenance.
• Complete daily reports and respond to inquiries as needed.
• Accurately record all material usage and maintain line cleanliness.
• Comply with all company policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Perform the startup and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area.

• Perform all of the following tasks: pressing, forming, milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations, as well as the inspection of them.

• Report any malfunctions or abnormalities with equipment to the maintenance team.

• Complete reports and answer inquires, as requested or assigned.

• Accurately record all material usage.

• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned production line area.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent attendance and safety record

• Knowledge of basic machine functions

• Knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNC/Burn Table Experience
• 1 year experience in a production environment.
• Understanding of machine setup and tear down.
• Use of HMIs
• Overhead crane experience
• Basic understanding of automation
