Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Middletown, OH, seeks a Finish Coater A for the night shift. You will safely operate the roll coater in Finish A, set up the coater, measure wet film thickness and viscosity, adjust according to QC, perform roll changes, clean equipment, and log paint usage into Oracle.

You will work with Production and Quality Control to resolve issues and maintain quality, with duties and priorities documented in shop orders and instructions. Shift: 5:45 p.m.–6:00 a.m., Mon–Thu.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Signed off as a Coater Assistant or Prime Coater Operator.

Night Shift 5:45p to 6a Monday through Thursday Shift

Finish Coater A operator is responsible for the safe operation of the roll coater in the Finish A room. Finish A coater is a single head coater. Duties include setting up the Coater, measuring painting parameters (wet film thickness, viscosity, temperature, roll speeds), adjusting the Coater following direction from QC Lab Tech, performing roll changes, cleaning painting equipment, moving paint drums in and out of the coater room, measuring and documenting paint usage information, entering data into Oracle. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works from shop order, schedules, and special instruction
• Responsible for keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Responsible for understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place at BlueScope
• Communicates daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals

*This position opening is for night shift only*

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
• Signed off as a Coater Assistant or Prime Coater Operator

Preferred

• 6+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing environment
