Job summary

BetterBody Foods in Utah is seeking a reliable Machine Operator to run equipment on our production lines (filler, capper, labeler, etc.). You will help meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will learn and calibrate equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, document production activity, and work with the team to ensure smooth line operation through shifts, including overtime or occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

  • Must follow SOP training requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 months production experience in a BetterBody Foods facility.
  • Able to show practical competency per Operator training requirements.
  • Must pass QA supervisor review.
  • Must pass Facilities review.
  • Must pass Sanitation review.
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wet and dry production lines and calibrate equipment.
  • Ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and fix basic equipment issues.
  • Complete PBR documentation accurately.
  • Start/stop/run equipment with or without supervision.
  • Assist in line breakdown, cleaning and reassembly.
  • Follow cGMPs, SOPs and company handbook.
  • Coordinate with team and report issues promptly.

Description

The Machine Operator will be responsible for the running of the equipment on the production lines. (Filler, Capper, Labeler, etc.) This individual is responsible for assisting in successfully meeting or exceeding the production goal set for the shift and meet quality and safety standards set for the line. The Machine Operator will assist the supervisor in the following duties as well as any other responsibilities required for the safe and efficient operation of a line.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Work on wet and/or dry production lines.
  • Ensure food products meet desired quality and safety standards.
  • Learn and be able to operate and calibrate all the equipment used on the lines.
  • Trouble shoot and correct basic problems on the equipment without assistance or with minimal assistance.
  • Follow proper and posted escalation process.
  • Fill out the PBR documentation correctly.
  • Start/Stop/run equipment with or without supervisor present.
  • Set a daily example for behavior and attitude and attendance.
  • Meet or exceed daily production goals (including on-time startup, cleaning, etc.)
  • Assist the supervisor in timely and proper breakdown, clean and reassembly of the production line.
  • Able to clean, dis assemble, and assemble the equipment as needed during full cleans, dry cleans, and/or purge cleans.
  • Understand Company food safety and food quality statement.
  • Understand and follow cGMPs, relevant SOPs and the employee handbook.
  • Work on the line with team while monitoring the overall progress and reporting issues in timely manner.
  • Must be familiar with the acceptable taste, odor and color of the products
  • Performs other related tasks, as required.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may occasionally be required to taste the products.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be current on SOP training requirements per Operator training requirements.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 months production experience in a BetterBody Foods facility.
  • Must be able to show practical competency at skill requirements per Operator training requirements.
  • Must pass QA supervisor review per Operator training requirements.
  • Must pass Facilities review per Operator training requirements.
  • Must pass Sanitation review per Operator II training requirements.
  • Highly attentive to details
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Good communication skills
Shifts

Monday - Friday 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Preferred Qualification:

Forklift skills a plus

Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Job requirements

Able to stand for a 8-hour shift

Overtime might be required at times

Occasional weekend work

Travel

Occasional travel (less than 5 miles) may be required.
