Job Title: Operator l

Schedule: Shift 2: Mon-Thurs, 3pm-1:30am

Pay Range: $18-$24/hour + $1/hour Shift Differential

Summary

To perform first article, in process, and final inspections of machined parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducting visual and mechanical inspections of machined components in accordance with published inspection instructions.
  • Documenting inspection results in accordance with customer procedures and expectations.
  • Documenting and intercepting non-conformances detected during inspection.
  • Inputting product data and maintaining inventory.
  • Maintaining adequate records of inspections and testing.
  • Processing non-conforming material reports upon detection of non-conforming material.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with multiple departments to identify and rectify quality issues.
  • Performing duties in strict compliance with FDA, QSR, ISO, and GMP regulations.
  • Planning, organizing, and prioritizing own daily work routine to meet expected schedule of deliverables.
  • Routinely utilizing measurement and calibration techniques.
  • Demonstrating ability to resolve quality issues throughout work processes in adherence with company procedures, quality systems standards, and supplier quality agreements.
  • Other similar duties as assigned.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Detail oriented and methodical.
  • Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to operate standard mechanical measuring equipment such as an optical comparator, micrometer, and calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing requirements and perform work to inspection instructions.
  • Ability to use a microscope.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection procedures, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with computing, database programs, scanning documents, and word processing.
  • Ability to work under deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO13485 requirements preferred.
  • Basic knowledge with GD&T.
  • Proficiency with basic math and geometry.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, continuous mental and visual attention is needed. The ability to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear is frequently required. The ability to operate a computer is required. Lifting up to 20 pounds is occasionally required.
