Job summary

Papier-Mettler is seeking an Industrial Machine Operator and Mechanic to ensure efficient operation of production equipment at our West Virginia facility. You will set up, run, and monitor machinery, perform changeovers, and support preventative maintenance to maximize uptime.

Strong mechanical skills and safety focus are essential. Responsibilities include loading materials, recording production data in our ERP, and solving issues to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification is a significant advantage.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine operation, setup, maintenance, or manufacturing.
• Technical training in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude; able to use hand tools.
• Ability to read and follow complex written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Decisive problem-solver; quick to implement solutions.
• High attention to detail with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery per SOPs.
• Perform equipment changeovers with minimal downtime.
• Load raw materials and unload finished products efficiently.
• Report production data via ERP system and meet goals.
• Use hand tools for adjustments and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and maintain workflow.
• Maintain safety and quality standards; follow lockout/tagout rules.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and teamwork.
