Job summary

IRD Glass is seeking a Machine Operator to ensure efficient production through machine set ups, operation, and quality checks. The role includes running multiple machines, preparing parts for shipment, and recording data in ERP systems.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma, basic math, and strong attention to detail. Expect a climate-controlled facility with 6–12 hour shifts and potential overtime on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various machines (Blanchard, lap master, polisher, saws, CNC basics, etc.).
• Run multiple machines/processes concurrently.
• Perform quality checks and measurement using micrometers, calipers, Starrett, etc.
• Document data in log books, ERP and work orders.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE; maintain housekeeping.
• Cross-train and contribute to improvement projects.

Job description

A machine operator will ensure the efficient running of production by doing machine set ups, maintaining and operating various types of machinery. A machine operator will also perform regular quality checks to maintain product conformity.

Starting Pay Range: $20-$26

1st shift:4: 10 hour days Tuesday-Friday
Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 3: 12-hour days from 5am to 5pm. 10% shift premium. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours

Essential Functions

• Operate various machines: Blanchard, lap master, polisher, saws, CNC basic operation, hand lap, ultrasonic, bevel, belt sander and more as assigned
• Running multiple machines/processes at the same time

• Ensure parts are cleaned and ready for the follow on operations. Preparing parts for shipment

• Perform the required preventative maintenance operations for machines, fixtures/devices in your area
• Documentation
• Enter accurate information into log books, spreadsheets and on work orders
• Completing transactions in ERP computer system

• Standing 6 to 12 hours a day and regularly working around moving mechanical parts with proper guarding.
