Job summary

Swagelok is seeking a Level II Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team and produce fluid-system components to the highest quality standards. You will learn on the job, operate precision equipment, and participate in shift-start activities to ensure smooth handoffs in a fast-paced environment.

This entry-level role includes comprehensive training, a robust Total Rewards package, and opportunities to grow machining skills while collaborating with a safety-focused team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow daily shift start-up meetings and convey shift handoffs.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment per standard work instructions.
  • Follow quality plans and specifications during production.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
  • Identify quality or process issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
  • Document production activities and maintain records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.

Pay & Total Rewards

The pay range for this position is $18.40-$25.80 per hour, along with additional compensation through overtime and 10% shift differential when working an off-shift. The starting pay offered is based on your skills, experience, and additional qualifications needed for the role.

This position comes with a $1,500 sign on bonus, which is payable after your first 30 days worked. You must be actively employed with us at the time of payout to receive the sign on bonus. Sign-on bonus payments are subject to any legally required or elected withholdings, and applicable federal, state, and local taxes.

Position Summary

As a Level II Machine Operator, you'll be part of our manufacturing team, producing fluid-system components that meet the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an entry-level machinist who is eager to learn, can work independently, maintain high quality production standards, and recognize when additional support is needed while maintaining a strong focus on safety. You’ll be provided all the tools and gauges necessary to be successful in your role.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn every day, continuously expanding your technical knowledge gaining experience working on a variety of machines producing various parts in a clean, modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Follow Swagelok’s production system such as participating in a daily shift start-up meeting with your team. You’ll give or receive a shift handoff report that sets the incoming or outgoing shifts up for success.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions.
  • Follow standard work instructions and quality plans according to specs.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Monitor machine outputs. Identify quality, machining, tooling, and process issues and elevate to support associates to resume production.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
  • Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.

Successful candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills, adding and subtracting fractions and decimals
  • Self-motivated with an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment

  • Machining experience or mechanical background
  • Experience in a manufacturing production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to work overtime hours as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Lifting materials weighing 25-35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Working safely around manufacturing equipment.
  • Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.
