Job summary

Olympic Steel seeks a Laser Operator to handle all tasks related to cutting parts, removing them from the cutting table, and packaging. You will ensure proper table values, nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality, transformations and product inspections.

The role emphasizes quality and quantity control of parts off the table(s). Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior laser operation experience preferred, and a safety/quality mindset.

Qualifications

• Laser operations experience is strongly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Detail oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through measuring devices and drawings.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Laser Operator is responsible for cutting parts and removing them from the cutting table, then packaging the parts.
• Ensure proper nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality and product inspections.
• Maintain quality and quantity of parts produced and identify any nonconformities.

Job Description

The Laser Operator position is responsible for all job tasks asociated with the cutting of the parts and the proper removal and identification of the cut parts from the cutting table and packaging, including but not limited to: ensuring proper tech table values, nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality, transformations and product inspections. As the Laser Operator, you are responsible for the quality and quantity of the parts coming off the table(s).

• Previous experience with laser operations is strongly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
