Laminated Parts Machine Operator

Multiple Shifts Available!

$2,500 Signing Bonus!*

Do you want to work in a hands-on environment where you will work alongside others to make products used in well-known companies? At AFC you will be able to assist other workers in the fabrication process, you will get the experience of working in a manufacturing company, and be able to learn while on the job. As a Laminated Parts Machine Operator, you will operate presses and ensure they run continuously throughout the shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Machine operation including changeovers of machinery to create laminated parts.
  • Gives minimal direction to fabricators to ensure machines continue running.
  • Works with the Machine Operator XT and LP Supervisor when material is running low.
  • Follows supervisor’s schedule to complete jobs on time.
  • Read orders and carry out essential functions of the job without much supervision.
  • Produces quality checks on work and assists in resolution of quality problems and returned products.
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, equipment and keeps track of stocked material levels.
  • Suggests process improvements and is a change agent, following through when change is necessary.
  • Participates in cycle counts, as needed.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require and as directed by the supervisor.

Competitive salary: $16.75 per hour plus $2.50 second shift differential, $3.00 third shift differential.

401(k) retirement plan: Eligibility is the 1st of the quarter after 90 days of employment. Pre-tax and Roth deferral options. Investment options are through Voya. Company match is discretionary, typically 50% of the first 6% of the employee deferral. 6-year vesting schedule for the employer match.

Generous paid time off (PTO): 130 hours per year (equal to 16 days, accrued bi-weekly); 176 hours (22 days) after 5 years, 216 hours (27 days) after 10 years.

Paid holidays: 10 paid holidays per year with no waiting period.

Safety Shoe Reimbursement: $200 reimbursement per year for approved safety shoes.

Gym subsidy: Quarterly reimbursement of up to $60 per month to help to achieve the employee’s wellness goals.

Referral bonus: Receive up to $2,000 for each qualified (and hired) employee referred to the company.

Comprehensive health benefits: Eligibility is the 1st of the month after 30 days of full-time employment.

  • Medical: Three insurance plan options to choose from that provide comprehensive medical and prescription coverage: BCBS HMO, BCBS Choice Options PPO, or BCBS Choice Options HDHP including a health savings account (HSA) with a company contribution of $1,000 annually. For each plan, employees may choose single coverage, single plus spouse, single plus child(ren) or family coverage.
  • Dental: Choose between two dental plans that provide coverage for routine care, major restorative care and orthodontics. Premier or Basic coverage is available through The Standard Insurance Company.
  • Vision: Coverage for eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses through EyeMed.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Help with whatever life throws at you or a family member. Experienced counselors will help 24/7 with loss, anger management, drug and alcohol abuse, or other life changes, whether happy or sad.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Set aside pre-tax dollars that will reimburse out-of-pocket healthcare costs and lower taxable income.
  • Dependent Care FSA: Take the worry out of health care and daycare expenses by setting aside pre-tax dollars for daycare, pre-school or eldercare.
  • Life insurance: Company-paid $20,000 coverage for full-time employees. Additional life insurance for the employee, spouse and child(ren) is available at a cost to the employee.
  • Disability insurance: Benefits that replace part of the employees income when unable to work due to injury or illness. Cost for short-term disability (STD) is shared between the employee and AFC. Cost for long-term disability (LTD) is paid by the employee. Coverage is through The Standard Insurance Company.
  • Voluntary benefits: AFC offers Accident Insurance which helps to pay for unexpected costs related to treating injuries and Critical Illness which pays a lump-sum if diagnosed with a covered condition. Both plans are through The Standard Insurance Company and premiums are paid by the employee.

Requirements
