Ardagh Group is seeking an IS Operator Journeyman to manage the IS machine and related equipment for glass container production. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of manufacturing experience and strong technical skills, providing a vital role in maintaining quality in our production process. This position offers a rotating shift schedule and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and retirement plans.
Role description:
The IS Operator Journeyman operates and manages the Individual Section (IS) machine as well as other related forming equipment to produce high-quality glass containers.
Compensation and Schedule:
1st, 2nd and third shift rotating schedule
Responsibilities:
Operate the IS machine and related forming equipment
Assist with job and mold changes on machines
Observe and make adjustments to forming hot end equipment
Weigh, measure, and visually check hot end coating application for defects
Correct defects reported by other departments
Verify required machine functions and timing of machines
Lubricate and swab mold and delivery equipment
Minimum skills / qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment
Must be able to stand for 8 hours
Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds
Preferred skills / qualifications:
Technical school degree or equivalent
Journeyman Card or equivalent experience
Experience working with IS Machines
Stable work history with no gaps in employment
