The Machine Operator IV position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Configure, operate, and optimize multi‑stage automated systems and CNC equipment for maximum line efficiency.
- Analyse equipment data to recommend improvements to uptime, reduce cycle times, and resolve technical bottlenecks.
- Perform and document repetitive TPM (total preventive maintenance) routines for automated systems and support maintenance with other tasks.
- Use MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure accurate part tracking, production reporting, and data collection (preferred).
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address machine performance‑related issues.
- Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance machine stability and product flow.
- Maintain an organized work area using 5S and RPS (Rheem Production System) principles.
- Own the technical performance and flow stability of the assigned area.
- Observe all departmental safety requirements.
- Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
- Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, Secondary School Diploma, etc.).
- 1+ years experience in a manufacturing environment/warehouse setting working on automated systems.
- Able to demonstrate basic mechanical and digital experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience with automation responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and solve complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with basic lean principles – 5S and RPS (basic tools).
Work Environment
May be exposed to high noise levels.
Physical Demands
Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs. Must be able to walk, stand, and/or lift repetitively during shift.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Preferred Experience
- Experience with MES and ERP systems in a production environment.
- Ability to utilize production measuring equipment.
- Proven ability to execute TPM routines and document compliance.
- Welding experience.
- Robotic experience.
