Machine Operator | Insert | Thur-Sat | 7PM-7AM

Job Summary

The Machine Operator produces inserted materials following Standard Work Processes to meet quality, output, and efficiency goals.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Work procedures
• Prepare, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot inserting machines
• Complete all logs, paperwork, checklists, and computer functions (MRDF, DCS, etc.) accurately
• Collaborate with the Assistant Operator to ensure proper processing of finished materials
• Understand machine capabilities to achieve optimal print quality
• Evaluate and improve workflow efficiency at each production stage
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure proper setup for each job
• Conduct routine inserting procedures with necessary skills and judgment
• Inspect for procedural adherence through visual and quality analysis
• Recognize and correct routine adjustments early to minimize rework
• Make accurate adjustments to minimize downtime and maintenance issues
• Coordinate with other departments (Pressroom, Mail Dispatch, Warehouse, Shipping, Technicians)
• Maintain safety and OSHA standards
• Keep work area clean and adhere to 5S standards, promoting continuous improvement
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors
• Comply with all security and compliance policies

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; vocational/technical certification preferred
• Experience with high-volume/high-speed inserting machines (e.g., Pitney Bowes, Bell and Howell) is a plus
• Ability to read and write in English
• Basic computer skills and understanding of workflows and job tickets
• Attention to detail, positive attitude, team collaboration skills
• Knowledge of machine operation, setup, and safety protocols is advantageous

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, moving, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Hearing and talking frequently are necessary. Accommodations can be made for disabilities.

Note: Duties may change at PCI Group's discretion.

Work Schedule: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and alternating Sundays, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with additional hours on Sundays depending on volume.
