Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints, spec sheets or mechanical drawings.
• Capable of using measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, height gauges.
• Capable of using common hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
• Operates various machines within the cell.
• Makes minor adjustments or notifies Lead/Setup for significant changes.
• Keeps machine and workspace clean and organized.
• Performs preventative maintenance and lubrication as needed.
• Performs minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other issues.
• Counts, cleans, transfers parts, and uses gauges as required.
• Uses measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances.
• Follows schedules and procedures; cross-trains with teammates.
• Ensures safety guards are in place and in good condition.
• Supports other operators as needed.
• Inspects work in progress for quality.

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Operate various machines within the cell
• Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required
• Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
• Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
• Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
• Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
• Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
• Follows schedules and procedures
• Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
• Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
• Assists other operators if necessary
• Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work
• Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.
• All other duties as assigned

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
• Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
• Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
• Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

• Minimum (2) years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
