Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, and mechanical drawings with precision measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Operate machines within the cell and perform minor adjustments as needed.
  • Keep a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances and inspect quality of own work.
  • Assist other operators and participate in cell and team concepts; forklift operation as required.

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Operate various machines within the cell
  • Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required
  • Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
  • Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
  • Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
  • Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
  • Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
  • Follows schedules and procedures
  • Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
  • Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
  • Assists other operators if necessary
  • Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work
  • Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.
  • All other duties as assigned

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
  • Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
  • Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
  • Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum (2) years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
