Job summary

Arnold Magnetic Technologies in Woodstock, IL is seeking a skilled Machine Operator - Weigh Up to operate heat-treating equipment and manage loading/unloading of parts. The role requires reading drawings, setting temperatures, and maintaining production records on a full-time basis.

You will work with induction heaters and furnaces, monitor readings, troubleshoot shutdowns, and uphold strict safety and quality standards in a high-pace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine sequences of varied operations to obtain optimum results from scheduled parts to be processed.
• Load pre-heat and high-heat furnaces and bring up to prescribed temperatures.
• Unload parts and place in proper stressing equipment.
• Set rectifiers, set-up jigs, temperatures, cycles, stress and cooling period, pack and loading method as prescribed.
• Set-up and operate induction heater, adjust controllers to obtain specified heat.
• Load draw barrels, check and observe performance.
• Investigate cause for machine shut-off.
• Check and observe indicating of recording equipment; match reading with settings; adjust power input report with apparent discrepancies.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of furnaces.
• Maintain job and production records
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Brief Summary of Position:

Operate a variety of heat-treating equipment, including pre-heat and high-heat gas and electric fired furnaces, induction heat, stress, cooling, demagnetizing equipment.
