Position: Machine Operator II
Location: Hartselle, AL
Pay Rate: $20.44 + $1.75 Shift Diff
Shift: 3rd, 10p - 6a
Responsibilities:
• Maintains safety practices of Sonoco and works in a safe manner to prevent injury to self and others.
• Works under general supervision on presses that are equipped with automated controls for die cutting, printing, laminating, slitting, and other processes.
• Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Performs required quality checks and inspections to ensure that product produced meets customer specifications.
• Makes adjustments where necessary to maintain quality standards.
• Loads and unloads materials onto machine; moves material into position on pallets; and may operate forklift or pallet jack as needed.
• Adjusts machine components to meet required specifications such as speed, quality, cut-off lengths, etc.
• Starts up, shuts down, and operates basic functions of single color flexo press.
• May assist in change overs including wash up, tear down and rebuild of press.
• Replaces worn supplies and performs routine maintenance checks on presses.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic math skills.
• Previous manufacturing and/or machine operating experience preferred.
• Leadership skills, teamwork, good communication, interpersonal skills and ability to think critically.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on multiple occasions per day.
• Availability to work any shift assigned
• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
