Job summary

Baldwin Richardson Foods Co. is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator II to safely operate packaging machinery, perform setup and changeovers, monitor quality, and follow GMP and safety rules.

You’ll troubleshoot equipment, maintain clean working conditions, and support continuous improvement with a team-focused mindset. This 12-hour 2-2-3 shift (5:45pm–6:00am) emphasizes reliability, punctuality, and safe operation.

  • Ability to wear PPE (cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net if applicable, Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, sturdy boots).

  • Previous forklift experience for applicable areas.
  • Lock out/tag out certified.
  • Team player with constructive conflict management.
  • Self-starter and disciplined; punctuality essential.
  • Completion of company SOP assessments and work instructions.
  • Proficient in operating up to 2 production machines (setup/changeovers).
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery including setup, operation, changeovers, and troubleshooting to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Maintain GMP standards around machinery and workspace.
  • Perform SOPs for machinery in assigned area.
  • Cross-train or train on equipment as defined by the manager.
  • Maintain and issue raw materials into work orders.
  • Work safely per company rules and regulations.
  • Maintain good attendance per policy.
  • Report food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel.
  • Ensure line readiness for product changes with proper staging and communication.

WHAT WE NEED

The Machine Operator II will safely operate machinery with maximum efficiency, while maintaining product quality and following regulatory and company guidelines for sanitation and safety. A successful individual will have basic mechanical aptitude, desire to learn how to operate food packaging equipment, ability to follow clearly written instructions, and willingness to grow and develop in the manufacturing field. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude are a must.

Our Team follows a 2-2-3, 12-hour shift schedule, providing a consistent routine for work-life balance.
This opening is for our Night Shift - 5:45pm - 6:00am.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Operate machinery, to include machine set-up, operation, changeovers, and troubleshooting, to detect product (raw or finished) defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
  • Maintain GMP (good housekeeping) standards at and around machinery.
  • Perform SOPs for machinery in assigned area.
  • Cross training or training on equipment as defined by the manager.
  • Maintain and issue raw materials into assigned work orders.
  • Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a good attendance record per company policy.
  • Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure that line conditions are acceptable to change from one product to another by evaluating that materials, paperwork, and equipment have been staged for changeover and notify Maintenance if repairs are needed, sharing continuous improvement ideas if applicable.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, and leather skid-resistant work shoes/boots).
  • Ability to use various hand tools (knife, water hose, band cutters, can opener, scales, Telnet scanners, various small hand tools as required for position/product testing).
  • Previous experience operating a forklift (for applicable work areas).
  • Lock out/tag out certified.
  • Team player and constructive conflict management are key skills for success.
  • Self-starter and disciplined.
  • Punctuality is a must.
  • Successful completion of work instruction and SOP assessments as introduced by the company.
  • Proficient in operating up to 2 production machines, including operation, set-ups, changeovers, and troubleshooting of multiple machines.
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Motivated to do your best work each day.
