UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I in Washington, North Carolina. The candidate will be responsible for the setup and operation of a production machine, ensuring safety and efficiency while following established guidelines.
Knowledge of contour banding is essential, including working with flexible materials and specialized machinery. Training will be provided, but basic knowledge is expected. Candidates with a high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred.
Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Contour Banding Specific:
In woodworking and cabinet manufacturing, contour banding refers to edge banding applied to curved, rounded, or irregular-shaped edges, rather than straight edges.
This is different from standard edge banding because it requires flexible banding materials and specialized machinery capable of following non-linear patterns.
Candidate should have some knowledge with Contour Banding. Reading of blueprints/work orders to determine dimensions, use of small hand tools/routers, cutting knives, glue guns/applicators, tape measure. Power up, LOTO, Proper Glue pellet level, proper operation temperatures, selecting the appropriate banding materials, ability to apply banding to panel, etc. Proficient in computer usage.
Training will be provided for detailed job procedures; however basic contour banding knowledge is required.
