Job summary

Dover is seeking a Machine Operator I-Assembly in Madison, GA to load and follow setup instructions for cutting machines and related tools. You will fabricate products to meet production schedules and perform basic operator preventative maintenance to ensure consistent output.

Responsibilities include setting up fixtures, reviewing drawings, reporting issues, and participating in cross-training. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of production machine operator experience.
• 1–2 years fabrication/machining preferred.

Responsibilities

• Basic Mechanical Skills
• Fabricate wood crates for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards.
• Jobs require the use of hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
• Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to fabricate parts and assemblies.
• Arrange parts for fabrication and staging processes.
• Maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
• Review finished assemblies to ensure accuracy against drawings.
• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
• Diagnose process and quality issues, and make improvement recommendations to department supervisor.
• Reports defective machines, parts and materials according to policy.
• Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Participate in and attend cross-functional meetings as required.
• Participate in cross-training program---train and be trained.
• Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
