Job summary

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division in Troy, IL is seeking a Machine Operator I for the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. You will operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders and engineering drawings, perform quality checks, and use calibration tools such as calipers to complete job functions.

Starting pay is 24.87 per hour with a 0.50 shift differential; after 10 months you’ll reach 26.61 per hour. Overtime may be required. Relocation benefits are not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL; relocation not offered.
• Minimum 2 years machine operating experience preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics or technical manuals.

Overview

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Machine Operator I - 2nd Shift at our Troy, IL facility. Core hours are Monday – Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Overtime may be required.

Compensation

The hourly rate is 24.87/hr, plus a 0.50 shift differential. Machine Operators follow a wage progression schedule and will reach 26.61 per hour after 10 months. The salary information above is a general guideline and is based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

The Machine Operator will operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders, read and understand engineering drawings, perform quality checks, and use calibration equipment such as calipers or other equipment necessary to perform job functions.

In This Function, You Will

• Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• Eaton will not sponsor employment immigration for this position. This includes CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is being offered. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics or technical manuals
