Job summary

UFP Thornton, LLC is hiring a Machine Operator I in California. You will set up and operate a production machine, feed material, and ensure products meet quality standards.

The role requires basic math, on-site safety, and attention to detail. A minimum of 6 months in manufacturing is expected, with room for growth and benefits including health coverage and 401(k).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates production machine per procedures.
  • Feeds machine safely and efficiently.
  • Stacks finished products per procedures and may label/band components.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, organized work area and equipment.
  • Completes pre-shift equipment inspections and reports issues.
  • Keeps production records as required.
  • Ensures materials and finished products meet standards.
  • Participates in safety and quality programs.

Job Summary Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 an hour dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
