Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Machine Operator II to set up and run production equipment in accordance with established procedures. You will monitor operation, feed materials, and ensure the final product meets quality and customer expectations.

The role emphasizes safety, clean work areas, and accurate production records, with preshift inspections and participation in CI and safety programs. This is an on-site, hands-on position with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Operate and feed the machine safely and efficiently according to procedures.
  • Ensure final product meets customer expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is safe to operate.
  • Complete preshift startup equipment inspection checklist and report issues.
  • Maintain production records as required.
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Job description

Job Summary Machine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures final product meets customer expectations.
  • Secures and maintains material and supplies required for the operation according to production sheets.
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Continually watches the machine to ensure quality.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band componentsfinish product.
  • Operates hand tools to complete assembly process.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes preshiftstartup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • May perform preventive maintenance as specified.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
