We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the role of Machine Operator I. This full-time, 2nd Shift position is based in Simpsonville, SC, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.

This position is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and run multiple types of machinery that produce superior products following Essential Cabinetry Group’s machining processes and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Support the C.A.R.E. values of the organization.
2. Follow plant safety and environmental policies and keep work areas clean and orderly.
3. Assemble products and parts using basic hand tools.
4. Measure materials for conformance to blueprint specifications using a variety of measuring devices.
5. Follow production guidelines and specifications.
6. Finalize and package products for shipment or movement.
7. Operate and monitor different machines within the cell during daily operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops with minimal assistance or supervision.
8. Conduct inventory and component inspections and/or audits to specifications as required.
9. Maintain charts, logbooks, and databases as required.
10. Meet daily production goals and understand cycle time requirements.
11. Store products and materials properly.
12. Meet deadlines for individual production tasks during the shift.
13. Report defective products or equipment.
14. Perform and maintain accurate finished goods traceability.
15. Escalate concerns related to material, technical, or quality issues.
16. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Ability to read measuring instruments.
2. Basic mathematical skills.
3. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
4. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
5. Basic knowledge of different manufacturing machines.
6. Ability to multitask.

Working Relationship

Effective communication across all levels of the organization—executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates, and production workers—is required. The Machine Operator works under the immediate supervision of the Department Supervisor.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs., stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for extended periods.

PPE

Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes must be worn at all times while on the production floor.

This position requires adherence to all safety rules, including the use of all required PPE, specifically eye and hearing protection at all times on the production floor.

Work Environment and Organization Structure/Career Progression

The work environment includes non-air-conditioned areas, hazardous materials such as paints, stains, and solvents, machinery, conveyors, spray booths, and drying racks.
