Job summary

Medline Industries, LP in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a Machine Operator I to ensure the safe, efficient operation of production and sterilization equipment. You will join an agile team focused on quality, safety, and on-time output in a fast-paced environment.

Starting pay is $18 per hour with a $1.50 overnight shift differential; the role requires standing most of the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, and collaborating across departments to maintain line clearance and continuous improvement.

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods (up to 8 hours).

• May work in warm or cold environments and clean room settings.

• Verify inserts, labels, and pouches; ensure product quality and adjust processes as needed.
• Weigh products before packaging; load, transport, seal, and verify packaging integrity.

Under supervision machine operators will ensure the safe, efficient operation of various production and sterilization equipment to meet quality and output standards. Work with a team to maintain high product quality.

Our Machine Operator I starting pay rate is $18 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential for overnight

AM (6am-630pm) PM (6pm-630am); 2/2/3 rotating schedule

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Machine Operation & Maintenance:
  • Operate, monitor, and set up various production and packaging equipment safely.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs; address equipment issues and involve maintenance when necessary.
• Quality Control:
  • Verify correct inserts, labels, and pouches for each lot.
  • Check product output for quality and accuracy; adjust processes to maintain high quality.
  • Document machine attributes and parameters on required forms and logs.
• Packaging & Handling:
  • Weigh products before packaging; operate equipment to process and package materials.Load and transport finished products; seal and verify packaging integrity
• Additional Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with packers on the line status and new jobs.
  • Fill out requisition forms for shortages and scrap components; complete scrap reports.
  • Assist in maintaining proper line clearance; perform backup duties and other projects as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; ensure orderly housekeeping.
  • Complete regular cleaning of equipment and production areas.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: None.
• Certification / Licensure: None
• Work Experience:
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English.
  • Basic math (addition and subtraction) required.
  • Ability to work well with others in order to accomplish team objectives.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must have high sense of urgency.
  • Repetitive hand movement must be made to place components in trays and to wrap the tray.
  • Needs to lift totes of components.
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Requires lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
  • May need to work in various settings including warm or cold environments, closed-sterile environment.
  • Must be able to follow procedures for the clean room that may include attire and personal hygiene.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification / Licensure: None
• Work Experience: Previous production/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: None

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$17.25 - $25.00 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
