Job summary

UFP Industries in Grandview, Texas, is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures. You will secure and maintain materials and supplies required for the operation.

Responsibilities include completing work area setup, feeding the machine safely, stacking products, keeping the area clean and safe, performing pre-shift inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area set up.
• Operate and feed the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stack completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensure work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and report any problems or concerns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
