Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment following established procedures. You will secure materials, monitor feeds, and maintain orderly work areas to ensure efficient production.

Responsibilities include pre-shift inspections, recording production data, and adhering to safety and quality standards while collaborating in continuous improvement programs. This on-site role expects basic math skills and is open to individuals 18+ with a high school

Qualifications

• 6 months of manufacturing and/or assembling experience required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine safely and efficiently according to procedures.
• Stacks completed products and may label and band components as needed.
• Keeps work area safe, clean, organized, and equipment safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains a clean, orderly work environment and production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Follows safety and quality procedures and participates in safety and CI programs.

Job Summary

Machine Operator I is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
