Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Airway Heights, WA is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and run aerospace-grade machining operations on nickel, stainless, and titanium alloys. You will read drawings, follow established processes, and monitor tolerances with precision instruments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic understanding of manufacturing planning, and good manual dexterity. On-the-job training is provided; 1st shift runs 5am–3:30pm Monday to Thursday with safety-focused

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with machine tooling and sketches.
  • Able to perform shop mathematics for machining operations.
  • Must follow safety rules and process instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machines to form, cut, bend, or machine aerospace components.
  • Follow drawings, instructions and documents for tolerances.
  • Use precision instruments to verify part quality and tolerances.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Document manufacturing planning and enter paperless timecard data.
  • Work under direct supervision.

Job Description

Uses established processes to set up, program, and operate various types of industrial grade machines to form, cut, bend, size, and/or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel, Stainless, and Titanium alloys.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Operators ensure proper setup of machines to yield quality parts conforming to our customers designed tolerances.
  • Understand and follow written instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system
  • Work under direct oversight.
Skills, Education and Required Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
  • Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines
  • Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity
  • Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
Working Conditions
  • Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required.
Physical Requirements
  • The machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
