Job summary

Atterro in Santa Fe Springs, CA is hiring a Machine Operator Helper. Earn $20.00–$22.00 per hour with 1st or 2nd shift options (6 AM–2:30 PM or 2:30 PM–11 PM). OT mandatory and occasional weekends.

Work includes operating manufacturing equipment, monitoring quality, and keeping production moving in a fast-paced environment. You’ll assist with setup, loading materials, basic grinding and finishing, inspection with calipers or gauges, and supporting packaging and housekeeping.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training in manufacturing or industrial production is a plus.
  • Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of belt grinding equipment.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials throughout production.
  • Perform basic grinding, deburring, smoothing, and finishing tasks.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and complete quality checks.
  • Support packaging, labeling, and material staging.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and report hazards promptly.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, metal fabrication, machining, grinding, finishing, or industrial operations preferred but not required.

  • Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards in a production environment.
Physical Capabilities
  • Regularly lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, metal dust, sparks, and moving machinery while wearing required PPE.
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to safely handle materials and equipment.
Job Duties
  • Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of belt grinding equipment, including belt changes, machine adjustments, and fixture preparation.
  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the production process.
  • Perform basic grinding, deburring, smoothing, and surface-finishing tasks to meet customer and quality specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and complete quality checks, production counts, and documentation.
  • Support packaging, labeling, and material staging activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by removing debris, metal shavings, and dust.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing standards while promptly reporting equipment issues or hazards.
