Novolex in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Machine Operator to safely operate bag machines producing high quality bags such as shopping, merchandise, and grocery bags. The role emphasizes safety, quality checks, and timely reporting.

You will inspect bags, complete production reports, and maintain performance goals while adhering to safety policies. Starting pay is $20.29/hour with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience.
• Experience in a warehouse environment.
• Reading, writing and basic math skills are needed for this job.
• Must be able to problem-solve to ensure machinery adjustments are correct.
• Must communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
• Must have good eyesight to spot color defects and print set-ups.

Responsibilities

• Operate bag machines safely to produce bags (shopping, merchandise, grocery).
• Check bags for defects and complete quality paperwork.
• Strip rolls, change rolls, splice by hand, and align rolls on the machine.
• Monitor, start/stop, jog, and adjust machine as needed.
• Thread paper through machine and perform threading as required.
• Clean and repair machine and maintain ink levels and rollers.
• Submit daily production reports and meet safety, quality, and waste goals.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management.
