Job summary

Steffes is seeking a production operator to safely operate production machines and read blueprints, following standard work and training guides for each process or product. The role supports continuous improvement and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include adhering to Kanban systems, reporting defects, and collaborating with customers, suppliers, and team members to meet quality objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Prior related field experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills.

• Follow and understand standard work, training guides, procedures, and acceptance criteria to meet customer requirements.
• Able to use various hand tools.
• Follow and understand build boards and Kanban system requirements.
• Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating collaboratively with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Environmental, Health, Safety: Perform work in compliance with EHS training and procedures.
• Quality: Complete work as indicated by standard work, processes, and procedures.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Functional & Cognitive Requirements of Position

• This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
• Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
• Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
• Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
• Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
• This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions
• Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
