Machine Operator - Grinder

SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator - Grinder. In this role, the right candidate will prepare and process scientific glass components by routing materials, setting up and operating grinding equipment, and using precision instruments to ensure quality. This role requires reading technical drawings, maintaining steady production, assisting with part supplies, and keeping a clean, safe work area while following all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Hours: Monday‑Thursday on 1st Shift – 4/10s schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Routing material to specific departments for manufacturing
  • Set up and operate equipment used to cut, grind and polish scientific glass
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications written in English
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality levels for size and finish
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (PPE, proper waste disposal)
  • Assist in managing the supply of replacement parts
  • Understand and follow Bills of Materials and process routers
  • Assist on special projects as required
Experience / Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Proficiency in English reading and communication

  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength or rough and boisterous conduct
