Job summary

SP Industries Inc. in Vineland, NJ is seeking an Upright Shrink Operator to support the shrink preparation of Pyrex, Quartz, and other glass parts on a 4/10s, Mon-Thu schedule.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, using measuring instruments to ensure part quality, maintaining a clean work area, and coordinating with the lead to manage supplies and safety procedures. Strong teamwork and basic math are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-5 years of glass experience.

Job description

SP Industries Inc. is hiring for our team in Vineland, NJ and has an immediate opening for an Upright Shrink Operator. The hours for this position are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform a wide variety of duties involving the preparation activities to shrink Pyrex, Quartz and other types of glass
• Perform shrink preparation operations on parts to meet customer and/or internal company prints and specifications
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications that are written in English
• Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels
• Execute sustained production in shrink preparation department
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Assist the lead in managing the supply of replacement parts supervisor when the need arises for replacement parts, tools and/or supplies
• Must observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e., PPE, properly deposing of wastes, etc.).
• Maintain quality and production standards
• Understand BOM’s and routers

Desired Qualifications

• 2-5 years of glass experience
• Appropriate hand and eye coordination
• Ability to read blueprints
• Basic 5S concepts
• Prior experience working in a team oriented environment
• Proficient in math
• Ability to read and speak English
• Light travel to alternative location (Buena, NJ) as needed
• High School diploma or GED

Payrate : $22-$26/hr
