Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in Houston, TX is seeking a temporary 2nd shift welding operator to set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines for metal products, components, or assemblies. The role runs on a 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with potential for full-time hire with benefits.

You will turn knobs, load parts, align fixtures, and monitor equipment while ensuring accuracy by reading blueprints and production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment advantageous.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and production documents.

Job Summary

Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines for metal products, components, or assemblies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Turn and press knobs and buttons or enter operating instructions into welding machines. 25%
• Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies. 20%
• Load or feed work pieces into welding machines to join or bond components.10%
• Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.5%
• Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.20%
• Record operational information on specified production reports.3%
• Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.2%
• Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat‑treat, or solder fabricated metal components.10%
• Other duties as assigned by Supervision.5%

Education and Experience Profile

• High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience.

Required Skills

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to learn new skills and take instruction from other team members.

Working conditions are normal for a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Mustobserveand adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.

Work boots and long pants are a requirementofthis position.
