Job summary

KL Industries INC is seeking a Machine Operator to run equipment safely and efficiently, assist with setups, and support the assembly of kayaks and boats. You will help stock the line, package finished products, and maintain accurate production records.

The role requires initiative to seek additional training, strong teamwork, and a focus on meeting production demands in a hot environment while following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and maintain machinery to production standards/run rates.
• Ability to maintain little to no scrap rate.
• Ability to make machine adjustments to maintain proper parameters and efficiency.
• Maintain operating records and reports.
• Ability to assemble components accurately, thoroughly and within production process standards.
• Assists with stocking line at start and end of shift.
• Ability to package kayaks and prepare for shipments.
• Ability to maintain and achieve production demand.
• Ability to train and communicate effectively with new team members.
• Takes initiative to ask for additional training or direction when unsure of tasks.
• Communicates any line issues immediately to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean work area throughout shift and verifies housekeeping after every shift.
• Ability to use power tools.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30+ lbs.
• Ability to work in hot environment.
• Follows all company production and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Run machines safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
• Assist in machine setups and changes as production demands.
• Assist in assembling kayaks and boats per production standards.
• Stock the line at start and end of shifts.
• Package kayaks and prepare for shipments.
• Maintain records and reports of production outputs and issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized and ensure housekeeping after shifts.
• Communicate any line issues to supervisor promptly.
