Machine Operator
- Receive, comprehend, and follow traveler instructions, procedures, drawings, and/or verbal instructions.
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment in a manner that meets quality and productivity standards.
- Recognize variations from proper equipment/machine performance and seek corrective assistance when adjustments are required.
- Assist supervision, engineers, and other employees in developing new methods and techniques to improve process and quality of products.
- Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment, including preventative maintenance and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area.
- Assist in the training of other employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process equipment, personal protective equipment, measurement tools, hand tools, test equipment, materials such as titanium alloys, drawing compounds, lubricants, solvents, and process chemicals.
- Ability to set up and operate applicable machines, tools, and equipment; operate plant mobile equipment and overhead cranes; read and interpret traveler instructions, procedures, and drawings; measure dimensional tolerances; use precision instruments; detect product defects; maintain hand‑eye coordination and safety practices.
- Physical ability to lift and move 50 pounds, move and reach around equipment, work in adverse conditions (outdoors, loud noise, extreme heat, near chemicals), and hold mental concentration for an entire shift.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime; perform special projects as assigned.
