Job description

Job Purpose:

Machine Operators are system experts in their assigned areas and are highly versatile across multiple functions. They must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement. As members of a team, they are responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. Machine Operators operate specified machinery and should have the skills to train or perform tasks of other associates as needed. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills are essential to support site objectives.

What we are looking for?

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Willing to work 12-hour day shifts (5:30 AM - 6:00 PM) OR night shifts (5:30 PM - 6:00 AM)
• Willing to work 2-2-3 shift schedule (2 days on, 2 off, 3 on; 2 off, 2 on, 3 off)
• Preferably 1 year experience in manufacturing

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift at least 50 pounds

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Perform all assigned activities and tasks within a line or area
• Perform jobs such as supply, loader, unloader, cooler, dries, meat receiving, mixer helper, filler/seamer, meat table, QA check, retort forklift, caser, and labler
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Take corrective actions to solve problems at the root cause level
• Assess equipment reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with maintenance for equipment PMs
• Maintain accurate records of QC checks, production, and waste
• Keep detailed logbooks and perform shift documentation accurately
• Perform QC tasks such as metal checks, date code inspections, item logs, etc.
• Follow good housekeeping practices
• Maintain ownership of product quality, perform quality checks, and follow GMPs
• Operate a forklift and basic computer systems
• Understand inventory control principles
• Know the plant's products and goals
• Understand production schedules, work instructions, and computer systems
• Have general knowledge of Mars systems used in the business
