Job Title: General Machine Operator

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

Shift: Day shift and night shifts available!

Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating a variety of machines and equipment in our manufacturing facility. The roles include, but are not limited to, Automat Operator, Bailing Operator, Labelling Operator, Knitting Operator, Lamination Operator, Applicator Operator, Slitting Operator, Wicketer Operator, Converting Operator, Ink Technicians, and Print Press Assistants.

Essential Duties

1. Operate various machines and equipment to manufacture products according to established procedures and quality standards.
2. Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning.
3. Inspect finished products to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
4. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
6. Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
7. Participate in lean initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Basic mathematical skills, including understanding measurements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift that varies by location (36/48 bi-weekly breakdown).

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, with basic math and reading skills, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment operating machinery.

Physical Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Standing and walking for 90% of the shift.
• Regularly lift 60 lbs.
• Handle, grasp, and perform repetitive motions; capable of lowering and lifting rolls of plastic film (150 to 225 lbs.) with assistance.
• Have eye/hand/foot coordination.
• Work in temperatures ranging from 60 to 90+ degrees depending on the season and department.
• Ability to see, hear, touch, and smell.
